Greg Gibson

(Founder/Lead Instructor – Guitar, Bass, Voice, Music Theory, Songwriting)

Cycling Tunes founder Greg Gibson has been teaching music professionally for nine years. A graduate of the Music program at San Diego State University, he is also an accomplished performer and recording engineer. Gibson studied voice with SDSU Music Department Dean, Martin Chambers, and completed their coursework in Audio Engineering and Design under the direction of Dr. Joseph Waters. While at SDSU, Gibson helped start and create the curriculum for a Volunteer Music Docent Program at Boulder Oaks Elementary School, with the help of a generous grant from Taylor Guitars.

Our teaching philosophy:

1.) We provide quality, professional music instruction, focusing on instrument technique, music theory, songwriting, and practical application of music knowledge.
2.) We strive to impart the sense of life-long joy, accomplishment, and empowerment that a music education and the ability to play an instrument can provide.
3.) We always allow the student to play an active part in their own musical experience! The ability to help choose their own songs, skills, and goals is a key to our students’ success and enjoyment of music.
4.) We encourage performing, creating, and having fun! Music is more fun and fulfilling when a student can showcase their talent in front of an audience and create their own, original songs!
